GOEIC regulated products exported to Egypt must be accompanied by a mandatory Certificate of Conformity for customs clearance.
The Arab Republic of Egypt requires that all GOEIC (General Organisation for Export and Import Control) regulated products be accompanied by a mandatory Certificate of Conformity (COC) for successful import.
In other words, it means that all GOEIC regulated products without a mandatory COC will be rejected by Egyptian customs on arrival. As such, exporters must request for certification in the country of supply to avoid custom clearance delays or having your products returned.

To apply for a Certificate of Conformity, please follow these easy steps:
- Fill out and submit a Request for Certification form. For faster certification, you can use the Cotecna Customer Portal.
- Attach the relevant documents to your RFC form submission. For example, a product test report from an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory, a commercial invoice and a packing list.
- Cotecna will assess your documents and schedule an inspection.
- If your product is GOEIC compliant, Cotecna will issue the mandatory Certificate of Conformity.
To avoid unnecessary delays, ensure that you submit all the required documents. In the event that you do not have a valid test report, or the report is missing essential test criteria, Cotecna will retrieve samples from the shipment and conduct the necessary testing.
