GOEIC Registration

Egypt’s General Organization of Export and Import Control (GOEIC) requires that all manufacturers, trademark owners and distributors register their regulated products in order to export to Egypt.

The Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade in Egypt issued the following decrees which came into effect fully from 16th March 2016:

• 991 (2015)
• 992 (2015)
• 43 (2016)

These Decrees introduced significant changes to the import clearance procedure. In particular, factories, manufacturers or trademark owners of regulated products must now register with Egypt’s General Organization of Export and Import Control (GOEIC) in order to continue to export to Egypt.

Registration can be done in one of two ways: either by factory or brand registration.

By Factory

This option is intended for manufacturers. All products manufactured in exporter factories must be provided, and the registration process proceeds on a per factory basis. By Brand

This option is intended for trademark owners and distributors. The list of brands owned by the exporter must be provided, as well as the factories producing these specific products. All the necessary forms for registration by brands are available at your nearest Cotecna office. Please contact us for support.
