Export to Egypt

Route B: Registered Products

Route B of the GOEIC Conformity Assessment Programme is designed for exporters and manufacturers that make regular shipments to Egypt.

If you are an exporter with infrequent shipments, follow these three simple steps in order to get your products certified for export. All the steps are completed prior to shipment at the country of export.

1. Document Verification

Use our online contact form, or contact your local Cotecna office to get the certification process started. You will need to have the following documents:

  • Request for Certification (RFC)
  • Pro-forma Invoice
  • Packing List
  • Letter of Credit (where applicable)
  • Valid Conformity Documents (if available)
    • It has been issued by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
    • We can establish traceability between the conformity document and the goods of the consignment.
    • It covers the exact same production, meaning same batch, as the goods of the consignment.
    • It covers strictly 100% of the products of the consignment.
    • It is in compliance with the relevant standards requirements.

Result: If you provided all the necessary documents, proceed straight to the physical inspection of goods (step 3). Otherwise, if you do not already have a valid conformity document, proceed to next step: product laboratory testing (step 2).

2. Registration

Note: If you have already supplied a valid Cotecna Product Registration Certificate you can skip this step, and go straight to the physical inspection of goods (step 3)

If you have a valid conformity document, please provide it to Cotecna. Otherwise, Cotecna will collect your product samples for testing. Cotecna will have the samples analysed in an ISO 17025 accredited or otherwise qualified laboratory (as per Cotecna and GOEIC's procedures). Then your product will be registered at Cotecna. Product registration is done only once a year, however, sample testing is done every 3 months to confirm your product continues to meet Egyptian requirements.

Result: If the lab results meet Egyptian standards, you will be issued with a Product Registration Certificate and you can proceed to physical inspection of goods (step 3). Otherwise, if the lab test fails, Cotecna will advise exporters of any possible corrective action(s) to be taken. In case a corrective action is taken, you will be issued with a Product Registration Certificate as above and you can proceed to physical inspection of goods. In case, the exporter fails to make necessary corrective action(s), Cotecna will issue a Non Conformity Report (NCR).

3. Physical Inspection of Goods

Cotecna will carry out a physical inspection of the goods and/or supervise the container loading, as required.

Result: Upon successful passing of the inspection, Cotecna will seal the containers if required (e.g. FCL). The exporter must then submit their Final Documents to Cotecna: both the Transport Documents and the Commercial Invoice. Upon receipt of these documents, Cotecna will issue the exporter a Certificate of Conformity (CoC).

If the inspection fails, Cotecna will advise exporters of corrective action(s) needed to pass the inspection. If corrective action is taken, and the necessary documents are submitted (see above), Cotecna will issue a Certificate of Conformity (CoC). Otherwise, if you still fail to meet the requirements, Cotecna will issue a Non Conformity Report (NCR) to the exporter.
