As per Egyptian Decree number 991/2015, products regulated in Egypt by the Verification of Conformity (VOC) programme, from March 16, 2016, must now meet the following requirements.
- Pre-shipment inspection in the exporting country
- Systematic product testing exclusively in ISO 17025 accredited labs

Export products must meet Egyptian testing requirements as defined by the Egyptian standards. If Egyptian standards are not mandatory for a specific product, but the product is nonetheless subject to the GOEIC decrees, the following international standards are to be considered relevant and applicable:
- International Standards- ISO/IEC
- European Standards (EN)
- American Standards (ASTM)
- Japanese Standards (JIS)
- Codex Standards for food products
